Ray Carey is a General Partner with Azure Capital Partners where he specializes in communications and infrastructure technologies.

Ray has been involved with portfolio companies that focus on the IOC and ILEC market, such as Calix Networks, Cyan Networks, Fonality, Vapps (acquired by Citrix) and World Wide Packets (acquired by Ciena).

Ray has also provided strategic and investment advice to several communications equipment and component companies including Applied Micro Circuits (AMCC), ADC Telecommunications, Amkor/Anam, Cerent (acquired by Cisco), Cyras Systems (acquired by Ciena), Efficient Networks (acquired by Siemens), Juniper Networks, MMC Networks (acquired by AMCC), NeoMagic, New Focus, Newport Corporation, Next Level Communications, Siara Systems (acquired by Redback Networks), TSMC, Wireless Facilities, Xros (acquired by Nortel), and Zhone Technologies.

Ray represented the United States, swimming in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia, and received his A.B. and M.A. degrees from Stanford University.
